Life

A busy birthday weekend!

Today is monkeys third birthday! What a 3 years it has been.

Time goes so much quicker now I have a child. I cannot believe that three years ago today we were bringing this 8 pound 10 ounce bundle of crying joy home.

I remember the minute we walked through the door and sat down. How could we now be in charge of this little person?

But somehow motherly instincts, pure guess work and perseverance have got us to this point.

To have a three year old little boy.

My parents came up this weekend and we went off to Glo Worm festival for the day on Saturday.

One good thing about him being older is that I am more relaxed about his lunch time naps. I like him to have a nap – okay I like it because I like the hours peace and quiet, but still…it means he is happier in the afternoon.

But it isn’t the end of the world if we miss one once in a while.

We had a fab day and monkey was exhausted when we got home.

Sunday we went swimming in the morning and then off to Pirate Golf at a local golf course. Again it was such a nice day.

Today we were meant to be going to Yorkshire Wildlife Park. As the weather was a bit dull, and to be honest, we were all pretty tired, we went for breakfast instead.

My parents went home and we pottered around the house this afternoon.

It’s now 7.30pm and I’m on the sofa watching the soaps getting ready for a busy few days at work. Monkey is asleep before 8pm for the first time in weeks!

So that’s his celebration weekend over for another year…and what a weekend it’s been.

I hope you have all had a good one!
