On the drive down to Cornwall last night I had 4 and a half hours to think about a lot of things.
Monkey was in the back for 3 of those hours chatting away and yelling to drive faster!
If that would have been last year I would have been losing my mind and worrying about him not getting enough sleep.
This year…I just looked and smiled.
It’s harder in others as now he doesn’t like the dark and is refusing to go to bed at night time.
But the fact we can understand him and have a conversation, it does make a lot of other things easier.
Monkey is moving up to the new room at nursery. Then after Christmas he hopefully will be starting a new school.
I’ve learnt to step back and evaluate situations. When to jump in and intervene and when to let things go.
A mix of having a toddler who is easier to understand and learning to go in to things with an element of flexibility; that’s what has made life easier recently.
It’s still exhausting when he won’t go to bed until 9pm. When he wakes up at 3am as he wants his door open a little bit.
Confidence I should have had all along.
What’s helped you have the confidence in raising your children?
