The weekend has been and gone and the sun was definitely out. Why is it so much more justified staying in the house when it is sunny?
I don’t feel like I have to go out and do things as we can just go out in the garden and play.
Next weekend, Easter, might be the last full weekend we get as a little family for a while.
I will be starting a new events based job, and hubby is playing cricket for the first 6 weeks of the season. It looks like we will be back in survival mode for a while until we get through it. Or at least until we get in to a new routine anyway.
I thought that starting my new job in November and coming out of a summer focused events role, combined with hubby giving up cricket was the start of a new relaxed summer that we have never had before.
Little did we know that 6 months later, I would be back in events. That hubby would have agreed to play a few weeks at the start of the season.
We have both said how much we are looking forward to our ‘summer’ holiday in September. It feels like ages away, but actually it will be here before we know it. It will be just what we need after a busy few months.
So it looks like it will be another chaotic summer for our family. It wont be the weekends spent exploring the local country parks; the summer evenings in the garden with a BBQ and bottle of wine that we would have thought about 6 months ago.
I mean, it might be…but not for the first couple of months anyway while things are settling down for us.
It never has been a straight forward Monday to Friday for us in our household until recently anyway. But now I have given it a go, maybe life did get a bit predictable and mundane.
I can’t do the same thing for too long, so bring on the new challenges and bring on the summer!
What are you looking forward to this summer?
