So this week the mornings have been darker and the evenings have been lighter. Most people love the light evenings as it makes you feel like you want to get out and do more.
Unfortunately I am one of the few people that actually don’t like this side of daylight savings.
Being a morning person I love getting up early and getting things done. I find it incredibly hard to focus and do anything productive in the evening. My enthusiasm to want to sit in a beer garden and socialise on an evening after work is nearly nothing.
I get home and get little man bathed, then its pj’s for me by 6.30pm, before cooking dinner and flaking out in front of the sofa.
On my 2 nights a week when I go to the gym after work, hubby practically has to bribe me with a nice dinner for when I return home to get me out the door. I love my home comforts way too much.
Now don’t get me wrong, I know I may sound like the scrooge of summer and that isn’t my intention. I just prefer the dark nights where I can snuggle up on the sofa with my feet up and go to bed at what looks like a reasonable hour.
I do like the warmth and when I get to wear my pretty summer dresses during the day. I just wish it was darker in the evenings that’s all.
I like going for walks in the country parks and not wearing lots of layers and woolly hats and scarves. There are lots of benefits to the spring and summer months, so I’m not completely weird.
It is just the light evenings that’s all…I promise. I feel guilty and bad that I am going to bed and it is still light outside.
So please tell me I am not the only one that doesn’t like this part of daylight savings and the super light evenings in the summer?
Although I really think I might be the only one….
