So it is the first week back from Christmas holidays where I have had 10 days off; not including needing to work for a few hours in between.
Like everyone else going back to work and starting the school routines again, this week will be a difficult one.
However, I am actually quite looking forward to getting back to a bit of normality.
Eating healthy, getting back to normal and everything settling down. It has been a busy Christmas but I had a quiet New Year as little man went down to Cornwall to stay with his grandparents.
I got used to waking up at 8.30am in the morning so I knew that Tuesdays 6am alarm was going to be painful.
So to aid my January and to make it as pain free as possible, I am going to give myself some mini targets on getting healthy and organised again:
- Aim to go to the gym 3-4 times a week including pilates, spin and 1-2 gym sessions
- Eat healthy with no chocolate Monday to Friday, chocolate allowed at weekends only
- No alcohol other than a glass of wine on a Saturday night
Now they aren’t too dissimilar to what I was doing before, but I was trying to do too much of everything.
December was also a very social month with lots of going out and Christmas parties. January isn’t looking particularly busy at the moment. I could do with a quiet month to catch my breath with everything.
What makes it all worth while is how it makes me feel at the end of the day. Having a successful day at work, going to the gym, eating healthy and tucking little man into bed.
Enjoying dinner and putting my pjs and slippers on and watching tv with a candle burning on the coffee table.
So yes, I may be boring but it is January. If you can’t do it now, when can you?
How will you be getting back into a routine this January?
