It feels like my summer starts now!

Reading through everyone’s social media and blog posts recently, there has been lots of activities and outings as families, with it being the summer holidays.

I have felt slightly envious of everyone having time off in the sun – even though sometimes it can be more stressful looking after the children than sitting at a desk in an office for the day.

Last weekend was the peak of my workload. It has now calmed right down for at least 2 weeks until the beginning of September.

I have 2 lovely days booked off next week to make a 4 day weekend, and then the bank holiday weekend following on after.

It feels like my summer starts now.

I have finally had time to get ready for little man’s birthday on Sunday. I cannot believe I will have a 2 year old.

His presents have been ordered, and the decorating has started in his room – hence why I didn’t take any time off this week. I would lose my mind sat in my house with all the painting and mess building up around me.

The furniture and accessories for his room have also arrived. They are staying at work until his room is ready for it all to go in at the end of the week.

We are actually not doing anything special for little mans birthday, but we are going to Yorkshire Wildlife Park on one of our days off. We took him for his 1st birthday last year, and want to make it an annual trip just mummy, daddy and little man every year.

Thinking of him turning 2 does make me slightly emotional. I am possibly one of the least emotional people I know – it takes a lot to make me cry.

But if one thing does, it is knowing that little man is growing up into the most amazing little boy I could have ever dreamed of.

So whilst everyone else has already had a few weeks off for summer holidays and are begging for school to start again in September, I am finally taking some time off to spend with my family. I cannot wait.

How is everyone’s summer holidays going so far?
