A day outside in the sun

After yet another busy week at work, I was really looking forward to the weekend. But here I am writing this on Monday, and it feels like a distant memory.

I couldn’t wait to get outside in the garden on Saturday with little man. I had bought a paddling pool, a tent and some big foam mats for the patio this week and I was definitely more excited than he was.

We had a great swimming lesson in the morning which was the last of term, and also the last one in his group as he goes up to an older group in September. I am not sure what we will do with our Saturday mornings over the summer now.

I managed to squeeze in an hour of sun bathing at nap time to top up the pink/golden brown colour that is finally appearing in my shoulders.

Then once little man was up and awake, we both went outside and spent the afternoon playing in the garden.

I think it took about 2 hours for him to get the courage to actually jump in the paddling pool. He didn’t go in his tent once.

But he still had a great time.

As the followers of my blog know, I am not the most confident mother in terms of taking little man out to places on my own. I was glad the weather was nice so we could play outside together in the garden and he could get out and about and run around.

The weather definitely makes you more tired. Both little man and I were ready for bed by 6pm.

So after a successful bath and bed time, I sat out on my new furniture with a glass of wine and a lovely dinner waiting for hubby to get home.

I do love these summer days and evenings. Even though I am a redhead and have to be extra careful, it definitely puts me in a better mood.

Did you make the most out of the sunshine this weekend?
