Today is Fathers Day. It is my husbands second fathers day being a daddy, and it is my Dad’s 28th fathers day of being a dad.
Sometimes we do not give the men in our lives the credit they deserve when it comes down to being a good dad.
Women are quick to judge and quick to criticise when things aren’t quite right. I in particular have an inability to share any emotions or feelings with anyone the majority of the time.
Having a little boy, I love it when he is out playing games with his daddy and grandad’s. I want him to be a strong and independent young man growing up.
My brother had his last day at school this week being 16 years old. I don’t see him very often but we do have the occasional text conversation. Trying to get your 16 year old brother to talk to his 27 year old sister with a child can sometimes be a challenge.
Seeing him grow up so quickly is scary. It makes me think that little man will be in school soon and that is unbearable. I cannot even begin to imagine that right now.
My husband is a great dad and someone that little man will look up to in years to come. Someone that I hope he learns his work ethic from, and his ability to just do everything that his wife asks him to do with minimal fuss. Yes, it has taken 8 years!
So today is Fathers Day – a day to celebrate all the dads out there.
I have a great Dad, a wonderful father in law and my husband is an amazing father to our little boy.
Okay, little man and I won’t be spending today with our dads. However it will not stop us from appreciating them and being grateful for everything they have done, and will keep doing for us throughout our lives.
So happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there. Have a great day.
