It is sometimes so tough being a woman. Women have to suffer from periods (sorry any men reading this), have babies…enough said, and then there is the never ending list of painful beauty treatments that are just that…painful.
Men get it so easy sometimes. Now, before you read on, this isn’t a man hating post. I do have a husband of my own.
Men don’t have to worry about shaving their legs when they want to wear a skirt, or weighing up the pros and cons for just having them waxed.
We have to deal with erratic mood swings. This means losing our shit for absolutely no reason other than the fact hubby brought home the wrong chocolate one night.
Waking up and feeling bloated, not being able to fit into the those jeans that we wore the other day.
The pressure on women to keep the family together, to keep it clean and tidy, cook dinner and do the washing. The to do list never ends.
Last night I stayed at my best friends house for the first time in years! We went out for dinner and then came back and chilled out for the rest of the night in our pj’s before heading to bed.
We laughed, we gossiped, we talked about men, weddings, work, and everything in between.
It is tough being a woman, but do you know what? It is also really empowering.
A friendly chat on the phone or a cry over a glass of wine or cup of tea can make even the worst day seem that little bit better.
Something that no husband or partner can understand – no offence to all the husbands and partners out there, including my own.
That is why girlfriends are so important. They understand a lot of things that the men in our lives don’t.
I am not sure my husband cares particularly about where the best place is to get your legs waxed, nor should he need to.
So this is a post for all us women – even if you are having a bad day, just know that all you need to do is give the girls a call and they will make everything okay.
