Our day out at White Post Farm

We are so lucky to have a lovely farm so close to where we live.

The only time we have actually been was at Christmas to visit Santa. Only one of the barns was open because it was in the evening and pitch black outside.

We keep meaning to go but things always seem to get in the way.

Not this weekend. My Mum came up for the day to visit, so little man had his swimming lesson in the morning, a nice lunch time nap at home, and then off to the farm we went.

We didn’t get there until about 3pm. It closes at 5pm but a couple of hours was just enough for us.

As soon as we got there, little man ran off and knew exactly where he was. He visits with nursery too.

We saw lots of animals, and there was lots of pointing and noises from little man trying to copy them. It is always fun when you have a toddler running round trying to say cock-o-doodle-do at the top of his voice.

The farm is so lovely, and I would recommend to anyone visiting Nottinghamshire to pay it a visit.

There are lots of outdoor play areas, as well as a mini golf circuit which is always fun.

There is also a tea room, and a lunch area with tables inside to eat picnics if it is raining. Outdoor picnic benches are everywhere too, so it is really well catered for families bringing their own lunches.

I will definitely be buying an annual membership for the summer so I can take little man whenever I want to at weekends. Now Daddy is playing cricket on a Saturday, it will be nice to take little man out on the farm to run about.

Do you have a local farm? Does your little one like animals?

  1. Our kids are a little older now (9 and 13). We went there when they were younger as we live in Nottingham. It felt a bit ‘tired’ and in need of a revamp when we were there to be honest. Ferry Farm (closer to nottingham) is lovely and if you ever venture as far as Matlock, Matlock Farm Park is fantastic! Glad you all enjoyed it. #TwinklyTuesday

  2. What a great looking farm. I bet it looks a lot different there now to at Christmas time. Lovely to see your Little Man looking so at home with the animals. Annual membership sounds like a good idea. I’d love you to join me for #CountryKids. Popping by today from #TwinklyTuesday

  3. What a fun outing! We just moved to a farm, but we don’t have any goats yet…I really want goats. I love all of the adventures that the farm life provides. 😄
