There is nothing wrong with being honest..

Honesty can sometimes get you in to trouble. Sometimes it can even change the way people see you as an individual.

But sometimes, people can also relate to you because you have the guts to turn round and tell it exactly how it is.

With anything, whether it be family, friends, work, children…life is sometimes bloody rubbish.

I like to think that my blog reflects me really well as a person. I always make sure I am honest. I work a lot, I don’t spend as much time as I should with little man.

Sometimes, we have lazy days at the weekends because I am too tired to make plans to go out for the day. That is life. Sometimes I yell at little man when he has been naughty and lose my shit with everyone if I am really tired.

My blog isn’t designed to have pretty pictures of us all posing like everything is perfect. My life isn’t perfect, no ones is.

I talk about the good, the bad and the bloody awful stuff that goes on around us, because I want people to understand that it happens to everyone.

Everyone has hidden secrets, problems that they are attempting to deal with that they might not necessarily tell others. I find writing therapeutic. A way of dealing with my thoughts and feelings.

Sometimes bloggers can get bad reputations for portraying the world one pretty picture at a time. All bloggers have the right to do what they wish with their little corner of the internet.

My corner of the internet is a complete mix  of life. We have the nice happy family days out, the toddler tantrums, the mummy meltdowns and everything in between. You might see the odd pretty picture on my Instagram if I manage to put some objects together and get the lighting right – despite my husband looking at me like I have 2 heads whilst I am trying to place mini eggs in different positions on my carpet.

So next time you are having a bad day, just remember, you are not alone. Some people are just more open about the bad stuff than others.

  1. All so true! I think people enjoy reading honest blogs alot more than the ‘picture perfect’ life anyway. We all want to connect with people we can relate with. #twinklytuesday

  2. So true 🙂 I think of blogs and social media as a show reel of all the best bits rather than a actual real life which is a mixture of bloopers and good stuff. It’s good a strike a balance – no one’s life is prefect but who wants to see pictures of me unblocking the plug in the bath. (Yes, that was my evening the other day!)

  3. Thank you, it’s refreshing to read your post and your completely right, no ones life is perfect, there’s no such thing. I do always appreciate the happy bits which remind me what life is all about, that helps me get through the bad! #TwinklyTuesday

  4. Here, here, completely agree. Life certainly isn’t like a box of chocolates all of the time. I’ve caught Munchkins cold and with eyes and nose streaming equally, Mummy definitely lost her shit trying to get him ready for nursery this morning! Then I immediately felt bad and we hugged it out (whilst reaching for yet more tissues!)
