So my husband asked me a few weeks ago, if I could do or be anything what would it be? My answer = a journalist or writer.
So here I am, writing my first blog post in the attempt to become a freelance journalist and established blogger!
The next issue to overcome, what do I want to write about? What interests me? Well that’s the sticking point in my opinion. I lead such a busy life working full time, having a one year old little boy and having what can only be described as an obsession with tidying and cleaning that I am pretty full on for 15 hours out of a 24 hour day.
Then it clicked. Why not write about my busy life, how I cope with looking after a 1 year old, working full time, trying to eat healthy, exercise and spend time with my husband of nearly 4 years! The guilt you go through on a daily basis trying to get the balance just right and then getting it ever so slightly wrong and feeling overwhelmed with guilt and emotion!
What gets to me on a daily basis and what goes through a busy working mum’s mind where both my family and my in-laws live at least 200 miles away?
Well I could write about it all day but that would be pretty boring and wouldn’t give me anything else to write about moving forward.
It’s a poignant day that I am writing my first blog as today my little boy turned 1! So I am sitting here on a rare day off whilst little man naps, having been for a run already (got the exercise box ticked today), writing my first blog (whilst watching Made in Chelsea LA – my guilty pleasure).
Today we are off as a little family to Yorkshire Wildlife Park with a picnic. Hopefully the rain stays away and we enjoy a great day out together.
I leave you with one thought before I go. Have you followed your dreams and goals recently, and if you could do anything what would it be?
Signing off for the day….
